Purchasing a Kindle
At the moment there are no authorised resellers of the Kindle in Australia. To be certain that you are purchasing your Kindle with the full warranty and at the price set by Amazon we suggest you purchase directly from Amazon. Avoid buying from web sites that claim to have stock in Australia as your Kindle may not come with the full manufacturers warranty.
Another good reason for purchasing directly from Amazon is that when setting up your Kindle for the first time you will be required to establish an account (if you don't already have one) so that you may begin purchasing and downloading eBooks. Kindles purchased from unauthorised resellers may cause problems when setting up your account. Don't take a chance; purchase you Kindle from Amazon.
Amazon have a set price in US Dollars for each Kindle. You pay the US price converted into Australian Dollars (which at the moment means you are getting a great deal!).

eBook Availability
Because you purchase your books from the Amazon Store you have a wide range of books available to read - at the moment the number of books available for purchase in Australia is fast approaching 700,000! The number of eBooks available in the US version of the Amazon Store is about 900,000 meaning that there are some books that have been restricted for sale in Australia.
However, we have yet to find a book in the Kindle Store that we could not purchase and download.

Delivery of Kindle
Amazon state that delivery to Australia will take 3 to 5 working days. Amazon use International Priority Shipping to deliver your Kindle; they also provide a tracking code for you to track your Kindle.
In our experience delivery takes 2 to 3 days.
Delivery to Australia costs $20 (US Dollars) for the first Kindle. Additional Kindles ordered at the same time attract a smaller fee; we have see an additional $5 (US Dollars) added however, you will need to check once you place your order as delivery charges fluctuate.
