Kindle DX

The Kindle DX offers exactly the same book storage capacity as the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi & 3G models, but offers a bigger reading screen with a higher resolution (1200×824 pixels).

Note that the DX model does not come fitted with Wi-Fi connectivity. This is not an issue because it does come fitted with Amazon’s free 3G connection to the Amazon Book Store.

Whilst being larger than the other models it is also slightly heavier.

Why Would I Choose the Kindle DX?

If you like to read newspapers or magazines (you can subscribe to a number of newspapers and magazines on all Kindle models) then you may prefer to use the larger Kindle DX.

The larger DX is also useful for reading pdf documents, although all models of the Kindle are capable of reading pdf’s.

Choosing the DX largely comes down to preference – are you happy with the smaller Kindle or would you rather read from the larger one?

To be honest I own the Kindle Wi-Fi and I am very happy with its capabilities and readability. I do not long for the larger model.
